FedEx Freight Expands White Glove Service

FedEx Freight Direct, a service offering that delivers furniture and other large-format goods to the end consumer, has expanded to 11 states. The company is offering both a “standard” service, delivering the goods to the first point of entry, and a “premium” service, delivering the goods into the room of choice and unboxing the shipment. Availability is still limited, but FedEx expects to expand the offering as demand to deliver these types of goods rises.

Software and Robotics Company Partners with 8 Warehouse Leaders

GreyOrange, a global software and robotics company that optimizes supply chains with artificial intelligence and machine learning, announced partnerships with eight U.S. warehouse industry leaders. The company’s goal for the warehouse leaders is to “co-create a warehouse automation system that can scale to fit the needs of their desired future state,” in addition to supply chain optimization.

Target’s Same-Day Services Account for 1/3 of Fulfillment

Target executives said that Target’s same-day fulfillment services are growing twice as fast as last year, and account for more than a third of total fulfillment. The success of its in-store pickup, drive-up and Shipt same-day delivery services is attributed to Target’s shift from upstream distribution centers to in-store fulfillment.
