Amazon Banning FedEx for Third-Party Prime Shipments

Amazon is blocking its third-party sellers from using FedEx ground for Amazon Prime deliveries, citing concerns that packages wouldn’t be delivered on time for Christmas. The ban will remain in effect “until the delivery performance of ship methods improves.”

Convoy Automates 100% of Pricing and Load Matching

The digital freight broker announced this week that it can now completely automate the process of pricing and load matching in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas and Los Angeles. The process optimizes brokered loads for carriers and shippers and provides data that “drives additional efficiencies for the supply chain.” 

Retailers and Delivery Companies Prepare for Returns

Retailers are anticipating up to $95B worth of merchandise bought over the holidays to be returned. E-commerce purchases will account for roughly half of the returns, and while 80% of consumers say they prefer to return items in store, UPS is predicting consumers will “return more than one million e-commerce packages a day through its network this month.”
